On this page you will find illustrated reports of some of our activities during 1995. These were in addition to our main meetings.
National Novice Contest
In mid-September 1995 Poole Radio Society organised the first ever National Novice Contest.
This is the first time a national contest has been run exclusively for novices. 38 Novices participated in one way or another, although not all actually submitted logs.
Many participants thoroughly enjoyed taking part and hope there will be more. Several full licence holders had gone out of their way to assist novices obtain points. Logging standards for the 2-hour contest were generally very high.
To support the contest, we operated on 6m and 70cm from Povington Hill in the Purbeck Hills.
