In this section we look at how to connect a transmitter/receiver to a power supply, antenna and feeder.
· Connect one end of the feeder to the antenna.
· If you are using an externl A.T.U. then connect the other end of the feeder to the output of the A.T.U., and connect a short length of caxial cable between te transmiiter / receiver aerial socket and the A.T.U.
· If you are using an internal A.T.U., or the transmitter / receiver is already matched to the antenna, then connect the other end of the feeder to the transmitter / receiver.
· Connect the microphone or morse key.
· If an external mains power supply is being used you will need to connect the transmitter / receiver to the output of the power suply (usually 13.8 Volts) and then plug this into the mains and switch the mains socket switch on.
· If the transmitter / receiver equipment has a mains plug, then you will need to plug this into the mains and switch the mains socket switch on.
