To aid understanding of letters (e.g. in callsigns) over the air, radio amateurs use a phonetic alphabet. Many professional and commercial users of radio also use it. You will need to learn this alphabet as part of the assessment, so that you can say a simple 4 or 5 letter word in the phonetic alphabet.
